What is Fish Pedicure
What is a Garra Dr Fish Pedicure
The procedure uses Garra rufa fish to remove dead skin from the feet. It still provides relaxation and leaves the skin of the feet softer.
Pedicure fish are from the middle east, and this aesthetic treatment is imported from Turkey, where they have been used for over 400 years for medicine and cosmetic purposes; and are still widely used throughout practically all of Asia.
Although science discovered them for their exfoliating action in 1800, Garra rufa treatments became public in 1963 in the Turkish city of Kangal (Sivás province), where the fish naturally occurs. Since then, Kangal has not stopped receiving visitors.
Garra rufa is a fish from the Cypriniformes family, found in fast-water rivers in Turkey, Syria, Iran, and Iraq. Recently, due to the pressure on collection and export caused by the popularity of beauty salons and spas, Turkey has taken steps to ensure the protection of the Garra in the wild.
Taking care of your feet is relaxing; the spa setting itself is meant to promote this relaxation, but some techniques can be a little invasive, such as exfoliation and scraping the dead skin of the feet. During the initial care ritual, some clients may feel uncomfortable or touchy, especially when exfoliating the soles of their feet, something that does not occur when using fish pedicures.
These fish remove the skins from the superficial layers of the feet, replacing the uncomfortable part of scrapping the feet with tools, bringing more tranquility and peace to the client while seeing their feet getting smooth and soft through beautiful and calm fish.
Fish, however, do not do the work themselves. After a 15- to 30-minute bath with those fish, the client is treated to an "ordinary" pedicure, which is facilitated by the "dirty work" of the fish.
The fish live up to six years, reach 10 cm in length, and the cleaning process on the feet is done through light, painless suction on the skin, removing the dead cells from the region. In this way, the skin is refreshed and smoother too. The acquired soft aspect is also due to the saliva of the fish.
This fish species is exceptionally resistant, living peacefully (for short periods) in the warm and still water that the customers' feet will be and feeding on the dead skin without problems.
These fish do a selective exfoliation; no other product on the market does a similar exfoliation. By removing dead cells, your skin will be cleaner. When fish suck up dead skin, they secrete dithranol, an enzyme that contains anthralin, which stimulates the growth of new skin cells.
In addition to Beauty and Skin Health, this treatment also achieves other positive effects on the body; when these fish act, you will feel the impact generated by small blows from a multitude of fish, which stimulate the acupuncture points on the soles of the feet and make the blood circulate better.
With this treatment, you will be able to feel the situation of comfort that will make you relax, and thus, in addition to physical health, you can also enjoy mental relaxation.
This treatment can be applied to any part of the body or all over the body. And it is especially indicated to treat problems of psoriasis, eczema, dry skin, as evidenced by the Report of the "Medical University of Vienna."
